Regrets..

I understand that you were there forever,
I understand that I was blind to the affection that you had for me,
I understand that I understood you half way,
But I also understood that you couldn’t see me as an integral equal in every part of your life,
I was a part; for only a moment in time,
Not long enough to last an eternity of time.
And there I realized that since that couldn’t happen,
My mind and heart wouldn’t agree ever.
Still I tried to forge ahead a way,
But in the process I guess I realized the distance more,
My mind took over and I took a decision sour,
With the affection I also lost out on a friend.
I don’t regret the lost..
For it was never for me, ah an extinct dove;
But I do regret the lost friendship.
And even though I had tried my best,
I failed to save the plummeting ship ...........
