Being Normal...

Today was a normal April day in Delhi for Kajjal.

Had to get ready for school in the morning. Her mom woke her up and she slept jus a few more winks of sleep in the morning before the days grind. :P
Managed to reach her new school in time, and rushed straight to the assembly grounds. Prayers, speeches, weeks schedule, and the national anthem to end it.
The first lecture was English communication, and well just to initiate the class, the teacher started off with a debate. That being her forte she gave a good fight to the opposing team. Soon everyone knew her in class. Positive start. Lectures went by. Lunch break is when she was thinking who to join for lunch when few of her classmates invited her over. After the initial introductions, they chatted on along about the new movie released last Friday and which actor was the hottest dude on the block in bollywood. Tad, the breaks get over too soon always!! 2 more lectures and then it was done. See you soons and byes exchanged.
Once back home, she mulled over her first day at the new school. Pretty much normal, nothing great and not too bad either. People were nice. All in all, NORMAL. Phew… And she sighed with relief. All day’s tensions oozing away.

Well what’s the highlight/relief all about?

Well for one thing it was her first day at a school for normal children, one which was not for handicapped, her first day with the artificial leg, instead of the wheelchair to give herself the mobility , her first day without the sympathetic but suffocating smiles and looks, her first day for who she was, her first day towards normality…
